Summary/Abstract: The city’s image is a set of subjective feelings and opinions, which are made up of many factors. Build associations and perceptions of the city is also through events, which include, inter alia, public events. Local authorities have a number of instruments, effects on the formation and execution of events in the city. Mass events are a special tool for shaping the image of the city. Gdańsk as a major urban center is the host and organizer of many such events. The nature of these events is closely associated with the policy of the cities.
