Summary/Abstract: This article presents mainly contemporary concepts of world literature and confronts them with interpretive practices. Focusing on the reception of Marcel Proust in Poland, Jarmuszkiewicz discusses ways of using the concept of world literature to enhance reception studies. The works of Wojciech Kuczok and Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz allow to juxtapose two models of reading Proust – one in which the writer emulates Proust and one that is about creative transformation.
