Economic determinants of e-commerce development in Poland

Summary/Abstract: E-commerce has been developing dynamically over ten years in Poland. The basic indicators of this development can be, for example, the number of consumers doing shopping on the Internet, the number of operating online stores, the value of e-commerce market , and the share of online sales in total sales. The article draws attention to the fact that, in spite of numerous publications dedicated to the measurement of e-commerce development, these determinants are not classificated and systematizated. The results of studies, which would present the conclusions of empirical research, are not popularized either. Therefore, the author attempts to identify economic determinants of e-commerce development and to verify them in the statistical analysis.
