Summary/Abstract: The study presents an analysis of factors influencing the selection and sustainability of economic relationships in Polish poultry meat chain. Four basic B2B relationship types have been identified, taking the form of transactions and the way of management as the main criteria. These include: spot markets, repeated transactions with the same partner, written long-term contracts and financial participation. The results of the study indicate that the main factors determinig the selection of relationships type are: avoidance of risk and uncertainity, long-term business orientation, growing quality standards and aversion to be less independent. The strength of the relationships between stakeholders are influenced mainly by: communication along the chain, personal bonds and symmetry in their competitive power. The quality of these relationships are determined by:trust, commitment and satisfaction from so far collaboration.
