Summary/Abstract: During the last decades of the 20th century family policies in France have increasingly focused on parenting which contributed to the developing of new trends in the field. The article casts light on this shift focusing on the correlation between recent family transformations and changes regarding private life, as well as the social, economical and political spheres. The analysis reveals the new parenting status within French society as well as the inherent risks.
