Summary/Abstract: The author analyses the content of the book by Milena Kindziuk (b. 1970), about Emilia Wojtylowa (1884-1929), the mother of Karol Wojtyla – John Paul II. It is a non-fiction book, a kind of reportage on the places where Emilia Wojtylowa lived. It is an attempt at reproducing her biography, in spite of the scarcity of archival sources and memoir materials. The author presents Emilia Wojtyla’s personality on the basis of very few incomplete statements, opinions, and photographs describing the figure of that woman in her closest milieu. (Wadowice, Cracow).
