Evaluation of use value of logistics information under uncertainty and turbulent environment changes

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this publication is to propose methods for assessing the quality of information based on which logistics decisions are taken, taking account of difficulties and limitations of practice of supply chain management. For predictable, repeated changes and threats, the „subjugation” of uncertainty is possible due to statistical methods, based on the theory of probability, stochastic processes, and statistics, but in situations characteristic of turbulent changes in the environment it is usually not possible. Therefore, the proposed solution is based on methods used in expert systems, including the use of linguistic variables, fuzzy set theory and rule-based knowledge.
