Summary/Abstract: Most of the modern algorithms for the delineation of local labour markets are based on the matrix of journeys-to-work data which requires knowledge of the direction and intensity of daily journeys related to employment. In Poland, suitable information allowing the matrix of journey-to-work data to be constructed was published as a part of the study on population movement by the Office of Statistics in Poznań in 2011. These data reflect the state of Polish labour market at the end of 2006. More recent data, valid at the end of 2011, have been recently made available due to the 2011 Polish Census of Population and Housing. The delineation of local labour markets for both sets of data have been conducted using the European Algorithm for Regionalisation, recommended by Eurostat, and a novel taxonomic approach. Conducting the delineation of local labour markets in Poland in two different moments of time allowed to observe the changes in local labor markets structure in time. Moreover for the first time it was possible to compare the differences between local labour markets structure designated by different methods at two points in time, which allowed to confirm certain regularities observed for 2006, also for the results of 2011.
