Summary/Abstract: Rural entrepreneurship is a topic of research, referring also to the role of locali-zation for running and development of economic activities. Dynamic changes influencing small and medium enterprises take place especially in the neighbourhood of big cities. Re-search was conducted in 221 enterprises. The aim was to determine the role of localization in the Warsaw suburban zone for firm’s operation. There were used CHAID and C&RT al-gorithms. Investigated small and medium entrepreneurs based their activities mainly on the local market. As a consequence they can see mainly indirect advantages of proximity to the capital city; it means that they do not sell their products and services on the capital market, but they can run and develop their companies for example as a result of inflow of new in-habitants to the suburban zone.
