Summary/Abstract: The article is focused on the description of the so called conventional apologies in Bulgarian. A typology of the situations where they are used is traced out. Observations on the cultural specifi city of the conventional apologies and on the infl uence of social factors on the interlocutors’ behaviour are also done.
