Summary/Abstract: In the context of the other Transylvanian sites with a long tradition concerning education and culture - such as Blaj, Sibiu or Braşov -, it grows more and more apparent the role of the centers of Năsăud-Bistriţa and Gherla as focal points from which the Romanian education and culture spread all over. In the process of development of these centers, the local Romanian scholars had their role.
