Challenges of EU's innovation policy regarding changing conditions of the environment - chosen aspects

Summary/Abstract: In accordance with its aim, in the article there are presented chosen aspects of the origin, development and changes (challenges) of EU's innovation policy. The policy is one of the youngest in the EU. The legal and institutional basis for the R&D policy was provided in the European Single Act in 1986. The implementation of the newest EU's strategy - Europe 2020 - is to lead to the growth based on knowledge and innovations, effectiveness of production and competition as well as the increase in professional activity of EU's inhabitants.
