Summary/Abstract: The paper ins proposition of understanding longterm illness in terms of process regulating the family homeostasis. It includes four case studies of illnesses as crucial element of family process context. In the end author suggests deeper integration of therapeutic activity both medical and psychological in treatment of certain longterm somatic illnesses.
