Summary/Abstract: The world economic crisis has influenced numerous spheres of the economy in most countries. Foreign direct investments in the global economy are a valid factor in the development of many countries. The world economic crisis results in the relocation of foreign direct investment. The position of European Union countries in FDI inflows and outflows is becoming ever weaker, the role of BRIC countries (Brazil, Russian Federation, India, China) is increasing while the role of the USA is still important (especially as a foreign investor). At present, China has a very strong position in FDI flows. The role of Poland as a place of investment and its possibilities to invest abroad is still very closely connected with EU tendencies in this area because most FDI located in Poland flows from EU countries.
