Summary/Abstract: The process of democratization in Poland after 1989, bring along occurrence of politicization of ethnicity. New possibilities created by the process was used by the German minority, which live in Opole Voivodship, which is a part of Silesia region. The minority set up in 1990 Electoral Committee of the German Minority and have put up their candidates in every local government elections, which take place, always with good result. They come to be a members of the local governments and become an important political force in a region and joint responsibility for developing the Opole Voivodship.
