Summary/Abstract: Article aims to investigate the effect of social time on the broader phenomenon of social change and to determine how social time affects social change and vice versa. Text deals with the evolution of time under the temporal human awareness. The evolution of social time can be seen by analyzing the mythical time in primitive societies and historical time in contemporary social groups. Temporal awareness of people in a time of great social change is significantly different from that which we have in times of stable society. Social time serve in collective life significant functions and can be quite different in various societies. It can accelerate and decelerate, as opposed to the regular time, and disclosed its properties in particular in the case of rapid social change. It interacts then intensively on the members of the society and affects their decisions.
