Problems in the identification of communes with dominated economic structure

Summary/Abstract: The fact of large economic entities functioning within particular territorial units constitutes a significant problem connected with shaping local development policy. The entities largely determine phenomena occurring in the socio-economic sphere. The aim of the current study is to identify such units on the basis of the proposed method using public statistics data. Moreover, it discusses the most important consequences resulting from this phenomenon. The study covered all Polish communes between 2000-2012.
