Summary/Abstract: The research problem refers to the question: how to make a rapid assessment of urban resilience in economic terms. The urban resilience concept is an interesting subject of study mainly because of the possibility of formulating a new approach in analyzing the diagnostic processes of urban development. It also allows for the formulation of recommendations related to the building of the resistant city to various types of risks arising in its environment. The aim of this paper is to formulate proposals for the methodology for the evaluation of urban resilience and its verification in terms of selected Polish cities. Its implementation involves the use − in a layer of theoretical assumptions − universal attributes of resilient and vulnerable system, as the dimensions that make up a complex urban system. The proposed decomposition of resilience and vulnerability attributes forms, in the final order, the basis for the identification and statistical verification of evaluation measures accompanied by qualitative data.
