Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the image of Poland and Polish people in the eyes of young Europeans studying at the Wrocław University of Economics and the indication of their motivation to undertake education in Poland. The article introduces the concept and functioning of stereotypes, presents the results of the empirical study and provides specific hints how to apply these concepts and convictions in own university’s successful marketing and promotion campaign to foreign audiences. It turns out that the evolution of stereotypes about Poland and Polish people in the eyes of young Europeans is amazingly positive. Young people more often see Poland as a developed, interesting country, full of nice and helpful people, not just drunk car thieves. This positive perception creates some opportunities for marketing messages to prospective international students.
