Summary/Abstract: The theory of regulation develops within the framework of French heterodox economics, examines the reasons of crises in capitalist economy. One of the fundamental ideas of regulation approach is fordism, which specific features were the basis of postwar dynamic economic growth. In the opinion of regulationists, there were elements inside the fordism which led to economic breakdown in 70's and then led to emerge of the new system, called post-fordism. From theory of regulation point of view the model of production created by fordism and post-fordism constituted so-called accumulation regime. Each regime is characterized by specific forms of institutions and their specific hierarchy. The article's goal is the analysis, from the theory of regulation point of view, institutional forms peculiar to fordism and post-fordism, and also the explanation of the reasons of fordism system of production downfall
