Summary/Abstract: The article shows the shape of multiculturalism in contemporary Lodz. First it tries to explain how the political elite and municipal officials have created a new story of the city of Lodz, from socialism to multiculturalism. Secondly, how historical facts influence current politics in this city and its identity are examined.
