Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is an empirical verification of the relationship between the firm productivity and the prob- ability of their involvement in exporting postulated by the Melitz model. To verify this relationship the probit model was used that estimated on individual data collected at the firm level for the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the BEEPS project conducted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank. Our results confirm the positive empirical relationship between the firm productivity and the probability of exporting for firm from Central and East European countries.
