Challenges of regional spatial planning

Summary/Abstract: In the era of uniting Europe as well as the global economy and the dominant neo-liberal trends it has became necessary to search for a new model of spatial planning at the regional level. The article discusses the key challenges that are connected with this issue, in particular an ambiguity of contemporary concept of the region and related matters such as „softness” of the space and fuzziness of the boundaries.
