Summary/Abstract: The role of the state is constantly current and discussed economic problem. The article undertaken into consideration the role of the state in scale "micro" in relation to municipal services justifying the need for significant involvement of the state in this area. The aim of the article, in addition to approximations of basic issues related to the role of the state in socio-economic life is an indication of the most important reasons to making and maintaining the state of activity in the area of municipal services. Those services are a set of particular services of fundamental importance for the functioning of society and the economy, with signs of public services and public character. Their importance, significance and specific characteristic justify the need for the involvement of the state in this area
