The Role of Roma Women in Public and in Private Life. A Gender Perspective

Summary/Abstract: Within the family, the community and the group to which they belong, Roma women have generally an inferior status, which is considered normal even by them, and is accepted as such. When talking about the involvement of Roma women in public life we must emphasize that they are subject to multiple discrimination, since they are subject to specific discrimination both because they are women and as Roma people.
