Summary/Abstract: RESPECT Index is the first index of socially responsible companies in Central Eastern Europe. It debuted at Warsaw Stock Exchange on 19th of November 2009. For sure it is a promising example of the increasing popularity of investments in line with social responsibility requirements, including also environment protection. The article presents the concept of the Polish social responsibility index.
