The Major Symholisms in Present-Day French Ethnology

Summary/Abstract: The article presents some of the major works which have marked the evolution of the symbolic ethnology in France during the eighties and the beginning of the nineties. The author outlines the new approaches to the cult of saints, to "magic" and "sorcery", and to human body, as highly symptomatic of the new trends in French ethnology.
