Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the Internet and its textual forms as one of the ways in which new structuralism occurs (it is described as technological structuralism). New structuralism reflects methodical and systematic nature of human thinking and its impact on the way multimedia and polisemiotic texts of culture are created. Digital technology creates hyperstructures – structures that produce other structures (e.g. computer programs which form textual genres). The author analyses permanent features of digital medium: creation of texthybrids (fragments put together); instability and changeability of a text (its continual actualisation); memory and memorization as technological categories; semantic and persuasive nature of digital linking (digital persuasion).
