FOLKLORISTICS AND POLITICS: THE CONNECTION OF FOLKLORE WITH NATIONALISM

Summary/Abstract: Folkloristics as a science that deals with the study of spiritual culture, exactly folklore, has its inseparable connection with nationalism. As international researchers claim folkloristics and nationalism were born as a result of nation building. However, in Albanian studies there was no tendency ever to see these two areas connected with each other, or better to say there have never been done studies in this light. In an effort to see the development of Albanian folkloristic in Kosova in outline with national development in the field, through this paper we have tried to present an overview of the developments of this folkloristic and prove that these two areas have been and continue to be associated with each other.
