Helplessness as a reason for relationship breakdowns

Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to analyse the phenomenon of helplessness. The analysis is philosophical. Helplessness appears as the inability to take action, as a paralysis of the very essence of a person. In the case when it affects one of the sides, it seems to be particularly painful. Here, the one who should naturally demonstrate help and support is acutely absent, insensitive to the fate of another. Helplessness here reaches its peak and becomes the ultimate argument for leaving. This article is not a justification of the negative phenomenon of a family breakdown. It is rather an attempt to look from another angle at this painful event, it stems from a desire to understand the secrets of human existence, which is not always able to face difficulties.
