Summary/Abstract: We propose to analyze the metaphorical register of The Song of Songs as we believe that it might ease the understanding of a pattern of thought typical of the Semitic and Egyptian world which, although a Mediteranean one, is very different from the European one (i.e. the mental pattern of the Greek world).
