Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the recent phenomena of social revolutions and riots being influenced by and, more importantly, organized via proliferating social media. It explores two major events where they played a role: revolution in Egypt and riots in London (both during 2011). It also describes some measure which might theoretically be taken by impacted states (such as blocking access to selected services or even the whole internet) and their feasibility, possible consequences and subsequent reaction of population.
