Summary/Abstract: Marius Nenciulescu compares, in his essay, a few short stories on the theme of war, belonging to three different writers: Eugen Barbu, D.R. Popescu and Mircea Nedelciu. The way they see the war differes not only from one writer to the other, but also in the vision of the same writer. Their attitudes range from a vision contaminated with the communist ideology (Eugen Barbu) to focusing on the drama, the nonsense (D.R. Popescu) or even the comic, picturesque, aspects of war (Mircea Nedelciu).
