The role of local governments in the creation of tourism in regions

Summary/Abstract: Local government units through appropriate management have a huge impact on local and regional development. Formulating development strategies and control infrastructure investments influence the shape and profile of a tourism community and a region. Tourism in the region is primarily a regional tourism product. It involves the creation of local authorities, businesses, residents of the region, tourist organizations and tourists. The aim of the workis to present ananalysis of the current situation and to propose changes that can positively influence the development of tourism in the regions function by supporting it by local governments.
