Summary/Abstract: An increasing number of companies started to list their shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, and other markets in the last time. This has proved a very useful way for these firms to raise financing for new investments. Making an Initial Public Offering (IPO) - the technical term for a company listing its shares on the stock exchange - has allowed firms to expand their business, as well as bringing indirect benefits through giving them a higher public profile, which can be a particular boost to a company's image if the shares perform well. Therefore, this research tries to underline the requirements, the main advantages and disadvantages for listing and delisting the firms.
