Summary/Abstract: Recounting in Latin of the famous trial for impiety instituted against Dávid Ferenc, dean of the Unitarians from Cluj from the end of the XVIth century, was edited by an eye witness and competent active participant, the Jesuit missionary Leleszy János (Iohannes Lelesius S. I.), concio-nator in Cluj and educator of Báthory Zsigmond, son of Prince Báthory Krizstof. Serious accu-sations of impiety (blasphemy), meaning lack of worshipping Jesus Christ and inutility of begging for his help (salvation), labelled as innovations as far as „issue of religion” is concerned (a mix, characteristic in the epoch, of the sacred with the profane) were analysed by us from the perspective of salvation set in the Greek culture, in a crescendo beginning with Socrates, stopping by Plato, Aristotle, Epicurus and ending with Philo from Alexandria creator of the intermediary, of logos as attribute of God, which makes his connection with the sensible universe and with man. Monk Arie inspired from Philonism when he created the doctrine of unique God which was adopted by anti-Trinitarians and Unitarians from Cluj alike (significantly named Arians) during their epoch. Yet Francisc, son of David, diverted from this „official” doctrine denying divinity of Jesus Christ and impossibility of salvation offered by him: preaching Christianity without Christ is equal to preaching impossibility of knowledge by a rational undertaking from the ancient sophists.
