Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on some recordings from the oldest registers from the Pilsen District (middle 17th century – middle 18th century), directly illustrating the process of the rise of some by-names and surnames from the terms referring to the kinds of craft employment, not only in Czech, but also in German and Latin.
