Summary/Abstract: The article evaluates the geopolitical and strategic position of Turkey in the European security system, both through NATO and EU perspectives. The particularities of Turkey relations with other organizations and powers, underlines the need for a deeper consideration of the security environment and security potential of Europe. There are clear indications that Turkey is strengthening its power and influence and became one of the most important actors able to influence the geopolitics both in Europe and in the Middle East.
