Infrastructural investments of the karkonosze national park vs. sustainable development of the area

Summary/Abstract: The paper consists of three parts. The first part presents the idea of sustainable development. The second characterizes the Karkonosze National Park – both as an entity and as an area. The third part discusses infrastructural investments carried out by the Karkonosze National Park and exerting impact on sustainable development process. The presented description highlights not only the purpose, scope and effects of these investments, but also their financing sources. The paper takes advantage of Central Statistical Office data, as well as information taken from financial and accounting records of the Karkonosze National Park.
