Summary/Abstract: Being Always “Beyond”… the Histrion, the Double, the Transe and the Dream. In order to understand the acting process, it is compulsory to see the actor/ actress in his/her plurality. The art of the actor is founded on such a base, on such a kind of intuition that tames the uncertainty of being and puts it to a methodical exercise of the fantasy. Living the acting process in its wholeness and keeping it real supposes the permanent renewed power to go beyond reality, to play with doubles, to transgress the limits of human condition. The realm of the nocturne interiority, of dream, of transfiguration, the shadows of the “in-between”, the delirium, the liberty of playing and its paradoxes, the confrontation with the otherness, here are some of the aspects discussed here, mainly from a philosophical point of view, a philosophy of the art of acting and living on stage.
