Summary/Abstract: No more than three days from the taking over his mandate as the mayor of Bacău, Ioan Grigoriu had to meet the challenge of one of the most destructive firestorm. Fire brigades from all over Moldavia helped to put out the fire. The balance sheet was catastrophic: 450 houses and the most important factories burnt out.
