Summary/Abstract: SUMMARY: Notes on Christian archaeology. 4. Early Christian discoveries from Gârla Mare (Mehedinţi county). On the territory of a villa rustica situated at Gârla mare (Mehedinţi country) in Dacia Malvensis (fig.1), dating 2nd – 3rd centuries AD (Stângă 2004; Stângă 2005) ten archaeological items had been discovered (pottery vessels, clay statuettes, a silver rind, a bronze pendant, hairpins etc: Stângă 2005, 91-94, plates XLIV-XLV) being considered Christian items by the author (I. Stângă) The author of the hereby notes makes comments on the documentary value of the described items, on their character (certain, uncertain but possible, certain but only for a later period) and tries to better place them in the context of north Danubian Christianity in the first three centuries AD.
