Summary/Abstract: This research is based on the style afinities between Jim Morrison (character of Oliver Stone’s film, The Doors) and Carlos Castaneda’s Don Juan, aiming at observing and justifying (non)mutual ways of facing alterity. The study follows the evolution of the two characters, identifying their similarities in their shamanic roots, in order to emphasize the degree in which New Age perception penetrates poetical thought and the other way around.
