The Second Memory, the Second Attention and the Hightened State of Consciousness

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the two types of perception defined by Castaneda: the first attention, the "attention of the Tonal" (the capacity to perceive the ordinary world) and the second attention, the "attention of the Nagual" ( the sorcerers' capacity to perceive the unseen and the unusual). The two concepts are complementary and have to be mastered by the initiate in order to attain a deeper perception and knowledge.
