Summary/Abstract: Environmental pollution leads to degradation and loss of habitats and can be considered as part of a global threat. Biological Diversity in Bulgaria is affected in varying degrees by different forms of pollution - contamination of soil by agricultural and industrial activities, water pollution (chemical pollution, industrial pollution, etc.), pollution by solid waste. The extraction of raw materials for industry leads to the excavation of a huge amount of rocks, quarries are being developed to limestone and marble mining, factories were built on fertile lands and others. Consequently, the landscape is changing, growing deserts, vegetation is destroyed and animals. Applying the principles of sustainable development in different locations, regions and countries in the world as a whole, will help solve many global problems.
