Cello transcriptions of Frederic Chopin’s works in the German musical environment

Summary/Abstract: The awareness of today’s unquestioned composing value of Chopin’s heritage was being born during his life and was particularly expressed in the German music environment at all instrumental levels via the piano copies of the originals. The article is an attempt to show this mass phenomenon on the basis of a selected instrument of cello.
