The Contribution of the Clergs from Transylvania to Maintain the National Identitis Between 1848-1919. Historical and Canonical-Juridical Aspects.

Summary/Abstract: The Contribution of the Clergs from Transylvania to Maintain the National Identitis Between 1848-1919. Historical and Canonical-Juridical Aspects. In this study, the author shows us that, in the second half of the XIXth century, the Romanian people from Transylvania was persecuted by the Hungarian autorities of that time, who wanted to limid the rights of the Romanians, by condemning them, în this way, to a graduate disappearance as a nation of Europe. The thought of the Hungarians could not be accomplished, because the outstanding representatives of the two Romanian Churches joined their efforts and protected through fight their faith and national existence.
