The five treasures we deal with were found in Tecuci, Podoleni (Barcea locality), Ciorăşti (Priponeşti locality), Ţepu and Ţigăneşti (Munteni locality). The treasures of Tecuci and Podoleni consists of monetary issues which date from the days of Istrate Dabija (1661-1668), both original and fake coins, copies of the Polish, Prussian and Swedish currencies. The treasure from Ciorăşti consists of Talers (Ecu) – lei, issued in Netherlands, the Roman-German Empire, the Duchy of Brandenburg and the Polish Kingdom, at the end of the XVIth century and in the XVIIth century. Currency coined by the Ottoman Empire and by the Russian Empire, during the second half of the XVIIIth century, is to be found in the treasure from Ţepu; Ducats of Ragusa and Ducats of the Netherlands, dating from the same period, were found in the treasure from Ţigăneşti. All these treasures, preserved in the collections of the museums from Galaţi and Tecuci shall be presented and analysed in future studies.
