Summary/Abstract: Victimization by bullies is associated with several health issues. Prevention of the bullying phenomenon is therefore an important goal for health and education professionals. We used a sample of 330 children from an elementary school, who completed a questionnaire on bullying behavior, and the involvement of teacher, parents and classmates in the bullying incidents. The results of this study show that bullying and aggression are still prevalent in Romanian schools. The research stresses the need for a deeper understanding of the factors influencing aggressive behavior in schools and also the importance of regular communication between children, parents, teachers and health care professionals with regard to the bullying incidents. In addition, children need to learn effective ways to deal with bullying and aggressive incidents. Schools need to adopt a whole-school approach within their anti-bullying interventions.
