Summary/Abstract: This paper tries to bring some observations on yes-no and wh questions in Turkish and Bosnian. In Turkish-as a head-final language, yes-no questions are signalled by the presence of the morpheme mi at the end of the sentence, rather than by an inversion transformation (what is, on the other hand, characteristic of Bosnian yes-no questions). In the same way there is not wh-movement in the formation of wh questions in Turkish, which makes a problems to learners of Turkish. The model of transformation grammar seems appropriate to show differences in the structure of yes-no and wh questions in Turkish and Bosnian.
